In order to keep warm, should you put a blanket over the air mattress before covering it with your regular blankets, or under the air mattress between the ground and the mattress?

Both would be preferable. But, if you have to choose, put the blanket under to trap the air from coming up through the air mattress. Otherwise, you will simply be trapping all of the cold air between the ground and the top blankets.

If it's not a hotel with central air and in indoor heated pool it's camping!
