| Yep, I agree. If she had been under the age of 18 and still under perental control, then no. But she was 21 and was taken without her consent. Even if you know the person taking you, its still kidnapping if your taking without your concent. Let them FRY! | |

I don't believe that "frying" was one of the potential sentences......but I can see your reasoning.

| Wow! That's extreme!
So the daughter filed charges? If she says it was kidnapping then it was... I agree with Brian, no matter what the age.
I don't know that I would send my parents to prison for 15 years though....

Well actually the age does matter. It would be very hard to prove kidnapping if both parents took their kid under age of 18. Now if the parents were split and the parent that didn't have custody, then it wouldn't matter the age. Personally if my parents were to the point they felt they had to do something like that, then mostlikely the relationship between the parents and child isn't very good, and the child (18+) probably wouldn't have a problem pressing charges.

| I think that it was childish and vindictive. But what the article doesn't tell us is what led up to this "kidnapping." What purpose does it serve to charge the parents? Is anyone else in danger of being kidnapped by these people? I guess she was mad that she had spent $ on a wedding that she didn't get to attend....Somehow, somewhere the lines of communication had broken down a long time ago for those people....... | |

| Did the parents actions really hurt anyone? Was there any loss that could not be regained? The wedding still took place.......although her parents intercepted for whatever reason, it had no lasting effect. Is there anything that can be gained from such retributive action? | |
